Sinical Magazine: How did you get started in alt/fetish modeling?

Bianca Beauchamp: I actually got into the latex world and fetish modeling thanks to a latex sleeveless mini dress that I found when I was 18 years old while shopping at a local sex shop with my partner Martin. Back then, I knew nothing about latex, and humans having the tendency to fear the unknown, I admit that my first reaction to it was judgmental as I was associating it with major hardcore BDSM. That day, I came back to my apartment empty handed but with my mind full of unanswered questions. How would the dress look like on me? Would I look ridiculous? Would it be hard to put it on? And mostly, why was I so afraid of it? After all, it was just a dress.

Curiosity outweighed my fear and so I went back to the store, alone this time, to try it on. Newbie as I was, yes, I struggled a little to put it on. When I finally got it right and stepped out the dressing room to look at my latexed reflection, I barely recognized myself. Such a simple dress with so much power. All of sudden, I felt invincible like a super hero and yes, I thought I looked great in it. Instantly, my fear vanished and it got replaced with feelings of excitement, and I became impatient to show my new acquisition to Martin. Yet, I chose to keep it secret a few weeks until Halloween, which I figured would be the perfect night to surprise him with the sexy dress. So in the intimacy of my room, I put it on (less struggling this time) and paired it up with cat ears to look like some sort of cute Catwoman. When I got out of my bedroom and showed my “costume” to Martin, he was positively flabbergasted. After that night, I wore the dress at home for kinky sex fun. Eventually I started posing for Martin as a fun and sometime stressful hobby: although I had lots of fun posing for him, I was insecure with myself and was often wondering if I looked stupid in photos.

At the time, it never occurred to me that this hobby would lead me to become the fetish model that I am today. It’s only when my Latex Lair web site was born, and after university found out about it and threatened to fail my marks if I kept the site open, that I made the big move of quitting school and my day job to solely focus on modeling. Martin also made a full commitment to his photography skills by leaving his job and devoting his time to the web site and to our teamwork full time. Being a united team, kinky and in love, is certainly key to our success I would say. In the end, we both ended up having some sort of artistic bohemian life, thanks to that dress and to our open-minded philosophy. Without those, maybe I would have become a teacher after all. Frankly, I don’t miss that alternate life at all.

Sinical Magazine: What do you think makes a model stand apart from others and from a model’s perspective, what do you think is the most important aspect of a photo?

Bianca Beauchamp: In my opinion, the most important factor to be a successful erotic model is to truly have fun seducing and flirting with the camera. When I teach erotic modeling to the ladies at kinky resort Desire in Mexico, I always say that it all starts with a spark of passion in the eyes. If you don’t have it, then your eyes looks dead and so will the photo. You may think how you made-up your hair, what you wear and where you model should be the most important factors in getting a successful photo. To me, they are secondary because you may wear the most beautiful outfit in the most magical scenery in the world, if the eyes express nothing, seduction will be off. Passion is not something you learn to get, it’s something you have within you. It’s only up to you to let it out and share it to the world. Models that express passion will without a doubt stand out from the others. Then surely comes their creativity and what type of photo shoots they can come up with. Are they imaginative enough to offer a wide variety of styles? I have done multiple hundreds of photo shoots in my career and most of them, I was the one (and with Martin of course) planning it, hunting for locations and selecting the best clothing to go with it. To make a living out of erotic modeling, one sure needs to be fully committed to the job, with both passion and creativity.

Sinical Magazine: How do you think the alt/fetish modeling scene has evolved since you started?

Bianca Beauchamp: I believe that thanks to the Internet that has bloomed in the late 90s, early 2000’s, the fetish/alt scene got at last the chance to be shared and popularized to the world in all its splendor. While the scene used to be more secluded and underground in the 70’s and 80’s, today people not only have a few forums where to meet and chat, they have websites such as mine where to check out their kinks. When I started in 1998, I was a pioneer latex model while today there are countless girls posing in front of the camera in latex clothing. The Internet also made it possible for fetish designers to sell their clothing online which again popularized the scene even more by making a variety of stylish fetish clothing available to everyone and for all tastes. And if when I started modeling only a few fetish events existed in the world, such as the famous Skin Two Rubber Ball in London, more cities today host parties and events where you can meet your kinky forum friends and wear your extravagant outfit that you bought online. So yes, in the end, I find that the alt/fetish scene is way much less underground then it used to be and I believe it got more accepted by society and less judged.

One afternoon last year, the Montreal Fetish Weekend gathered in downtown Montreal hundreds of latex fetishists that came from all over the world to attend the event. They were all dressed up with corsets, catsuits, dresses and heels and strolled together in the streets of Montreal visiting the city for a good 2 hours in their fetish gear. Nobody got arrested for public display of nudity (some people wore see-through outfits!). Nobody got attacked or yelled at on the street. It shows you that people’s mentality has changed and is now more accepting of alternative lifestyles than it used to be.

Sinical Magazine: The fetish clothing focus of this issue is on latex. What do you like about latex fetish clothing?

Bianca Beauchamp: Everything! I love the soft touch of it and once lubed up, I just love the slippery wet feel of it. My olfaction sense is highly developed and to me rubber smells so sweet that I just love burying my nose in there and inhaling deeply. Everytime I get a new outfit, this is actually my little ritual and it does arouse me deeply. I also enjoy how latex encloses my body tight and firmly: it feels like a second skin. Finally, I simply adore the look of it. To my taste, no other material can compete with it. When I wear latex, I feel I look like at my sexiest and that is so powerful that I can only feel happy. When I see it on somebody else, especially on women (I have to admit), it simply turns me on. Two latexed bodies is certainly better than one, especially in bed!

Sinical Magazine: How much magazine covers have you appeared on?

Bianca Beauchamp: Combining both book & magazine covers, it’s close to 100.

Sinical Magazine: Besides modeling, what do you like to do for fun?

Bianca Beauchamp: When it’s summer in Montreal and all sunny and nice, I enjoy a lot taking my two chihuahuas for a walk at the park where I lay down bare foot in the grass, shut my eyes for a while and rest while soaking in the sun. I also love having supper with friends: it’s a fun way to relax and unwind. And I have to admit that I entertain a hate & love relationship with the gym. I go 3 or 4 times a week where my trainer makes me lift weights and makes me sweat my French-Canadian butt off. It’s sometimes a pain in the ass (well literally) to motivate myself but at every end of my sessions, I’m feeling content and my body floats on a nice buzz of endorphins. And finally, I always enjoy my Friday nights with a vodka martini à la Bond, dressed up with kinky outfits and having some super sexy good times with Martin... and sometimes with sexy ladies. That is for sure a LOT of fun.

Sinical Magazine: Do you have any other upcoming projects you would like to mention?

Bianca Beauchamp: Martin and I are currently working on merging my two web sites, Bianca’s Latex Lair & B.B Glam, on one platform that will be Ipad, Iphone, Android, and tablets friendly. In other words, it’s make-over time big time! When this will be done (check out www.ilovebianca.con to see the release date), It’s going to be time to plan my new 2015 Calendars as well as my next upcoming Latex, Glam and Special Editions book sessions that I sell on my online store. As for the rest like traveling for photo shoots, attending fetish events and everything else that life throws at me, fans can always read about my upcoming projects on my blog page and on my Facebook page |
