Drakaena is an alternative model based in Lyon, France.
Sinical Magazine: How did you get started in alternative modeling?
Drakaena: I started modeling when I was 15. I met my best friend at school and she starting doing photography so we started to work together. At that time I had a dark and gothic style and so did she. So we made pictures that look like us, not really “fashion photography”. Since I have built up an important wardrobe including corsets, gothic clothes, leather, high heels, new rock, demonia, etc… It’s only last year that I’ve started to try lots of different directions in modeling, such as pinup, bodypaint, shibari, fetish etc… I love the weird and alternative style.
Sinical Magazine: What are your measurements?
Drakaena: I'm not very skinny, I've got what needed where needed and that's what people like. I measure 1m60 for 56 kg, clothing 38 (EU) and 37-38 for shoes , 92 breast, 72 waist, 92 hip (in centimeters). I don’t know how much it's in UK system.

Sinical Magazine: What do you think makes a model stand out from others?
Drakaena: For me it’s very important to have my own personality. Knowing how to innovate, create and feel what I do. Giving my best in any circumstances, and transmitting my emotions. It’s not interesting for me to model just for modeling. Sure I like making beautiful pictures but most of all to put my soul in it, the emotions and my personality. And believe in what I do.
Sinical Magazine: What is the most interesting thing that has happened to you as a model?
Drakaena: All my experiences as model are interesting : the people I met, the events, the fashion shows and the collaborations. Recently I liked the “Bal des suplices” party. Where I could do my tribal fusion dance show. I met really nice people and other models, one of them was Ophelia Overdose. And I also paraded for a latex brand. It was really fun.

Sinical Magazine: Who are some photographers you've worked with and who are some you would like to work with?
Drakaena: I’ve worked with some not famous but very talented photographers. They found the way to find something special in me, capture the emotions, create a scene, and it’s because of them that I could move forward. If you want some names: Mori Gena, Melle Phenix, Frederic Noyon, FotoNerdz, Eol Neruhur and John Genove. I also worked with Julien Reynaud, a professional photographer and the organizer of the “Bal des suplices”, that is the biggest fetish party in Lyon for now.
I would really like to work with Nath Sakura, I absolutely love her work and her universe. I also love the work of Delphine Ayache.
And more in the fetish style : Mark Black and Peter Czernich
Sinical Magazine: Who is more of an influence: Bettie Page or Dita Von Teese?
Drakaena: Dita Von Teese of course. First of all she’s beautiful, she has a great plastique, a lots of class, elegance and charm. Her pictures are wonderful. She is a real model.

Sinical Magazine: Clothing wise, what is your main fetish?
Drakaena: My main fetish would be the latex , the way it reacts to the light. It’s perfect to line up the body and make great pictures. It gives always a domination or dominated effect, very sexy and the material is very pleasant to wear even if it's hard to get into.
Sinical Magazine: Who are some of your favorite designers?
Drakaena: I like Pandora Deluxe Latex, kaori’s latex dreams , Royal Black Couture & Corsetry, toxic vision, Westward Bound and many others but the list is too long to write them all.
Sinical Magazine: What type of music do you listen to?
Drakaena: I haven't been listening to a lot of music lately. But I like most of styles. Anything that's rock, metal, symphonic. I also don't mind more commercial songs so some times I even go to night clubs to dance .
Sinical Magazine: What is the alt/fetish scene like in your city?
Drakaena: The biggest annual fetish event in Lyon is “Bal des suplices”, but all year long there are some small fetish parties organized by the holders of “New Rock” and “Horsnorms” stores, and some events in the “Marquis Body Art” tattoo and piercing workshop. But I'm sure that there are more that I don't know about
